FUORI!!!
The graphics used in the collection refer to an anthology, curated by Carlo Antonelli and the collective Francesco Urbano Ragazzi and published by Nero Editions, of the first 13 issues of the eponymous magazine (spelled FUORI! with one exclamation point) from 1971 – 1974 and in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the LGBTQ+ Movement in Italy. FUORI!, an acronym for Fronte Unitario Omosessuale Rivoluzionario Italiano (Revolutionary Homosexual Unitary Front), but also the Italian word for “out,” was also an association that fought for LGBT rights throughout the 70s and 80s, and is preserved today as a reminder of the many battles yet to be fought.
